RETREATS TO THE HIGH PLACES

Posted: October 18, 2011 in Uncategorized

One of the ways I identify with Jesus is in His many retreats to the mountain to pray.  It was in those trips to the heights that Jesus seemed to quicken His total dependence on Father God for everything He said and did. I think of the Mount of Transfiguration, Sermon on the Mount and then the mountains from which He ascended to Heaven after the crucifixion.

It is impossible to know which mountain Jesus most enjoyed.  On a trip to the Holy Land in May, 2008, one surprise of the trip was the numerous mountains in that storied region.  We enjoyed many of them during our tour.  We felt God’s presence everywhere.

We moved to Fort Worth Texas from Nashville, Tennessee in 1975.  What a shock it was to discover such an absence of mountains in our new Texas home.  And it was not long until I began to ask, “Where are the nearest mountains I might be able to visit.”

We discovered Red River, NM, located in the southern Rocky Mountains, part of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains.  It is completely surrounded by the Carson National Forest.  It was love at first sight.

It was in Red River that I first learned to bless and not curse.  I want to tell you about all that in a future post on this subject of “Retreats to High Places.”  God spoke to me here about how His church is to operate and function.  Here is the place, I first felt called to the nations in evangelism.

Another thing I discovered about Red River is that I can pray and intercede here with a power and insight like no other place.

In Part 2 of this post, I will share more specifically about what I learned in Red River.

Please send me any prayer request.  I promise to take it before the Lord while we are visiting Red River right now.  I look forward to praying for you and your concerns.

Giving a Christmas to Remember

Children in Philippines received Christmas gifts and food last year.  You can be part of blessing them this year.  See below

This could be a special Christmas for you as well as the sponsored children.  Someone said a few days ago they would give to the children the same amount they plan to spend on Christmas this year for their own family.  What an awesome way to make Christmas special.  I believe it brought a smile to the face of Jesus.  Jesus loves children and is pleased when we love them and bless them.

Would you be willing to give a gift to a child who might not receive anything for Christmas?  Some of our children have never received a gift for Christmas or even any special food to eat on that most special of days.

Read more about “Christmas for Kids” on Kathy Bohlin’s blog – All God’s Children

Go to Christmas for Kids to give a gift of blessing to the poorest of the poor.  You will be blessed.

Please pray for our business it’s just my husband and myself. When we finally get on our feet. The enemy tries to knock us down. Also that our adoption of Ellie will be complete before she starts school next year. We never seem to have the extra funds to make it possible. God bless you for your dedication to the Lord.

Lord, for Christine and her husband, bless their business with witty inventions and breakthroughs beyond their knowing. I pray for a release of supernatural wisdom on the both of them. Give Ellie smoothe sailing into their home. I break all curses and release blessings on their adoption of Ellie.

God loves you and your good heart Christine.

Dear Ras, I want to say first that I really appreciate your ministry of writing what our Lord is telling you to write for the people. I would like to ask you to pray for a long standing dream that I’ve had in my heart that I believe God put there for a yarn store called “HeavenSent Yarn Store”. The name was given to me by the Lord and I believe that He has told me that it is to be in an empty building a few blocks from where I live. The store is called ‘HeavenSent’ because Jesus is the one who is supplying all the stock for the store. I am an avid knitter and crocheter. I knit for charity at my church and sell some items that I have made in an Etsy.com store on the internet. I have received bits and pieces from the Lord about the yarn store and I realize that there has probably never been such a store in existence maybe never. But Jesus has put this in my heart to have such a store. I would carry everything to do with the fiber arts and more. Things that are hard to find or even impossible to find. But isn’t it true that nothing is impossible for our God? So I’m asking you to pray for this dream to become reality. How, I’m not really sure. But I know I’ve had visions of lots of boxes and even a semi trailer truck pulling up in front of my house. I feel that the time for it to become reality is getting closer. Thankyou in advance for your prayers on my behalf to our Lord. In Christ, Nicky Jo Herner

While you are in Red River I will take you up on your offer to pray. When I read this post I remembered that sometime in the first months of 2008 I had a vision that you explained to me. It was the mountains of Gerazim and Ebal which loomed up before me one evening as I was lost and driving down a country rd. It was about the awesome significance of the power of words to bless and curse. I have been struggling to give control of my words to The Lord since then over 3 years ago. I understand how much the Lord has heard me all my life, even before I knew Him. He wants to use my mouth and words to Glorify him and though I am doing better I am grieved at the slow progress I am making. I do not want to grieve the Lord, He is so very longsuffering and gracious with me. And the discipline is not enjoyable either. I have been getting better but struggle with lack of committment. I am an intercessor and want to give and increase 100 fold return in this life. I do support the orphans in the Phillipines also. Maybe I shouldn’t ask for prayer but I just saw your post at a time that I am at a low point and feel I have made yet another mistake. Thank you and God’s BLESSING upon you and all you do, in Jesus name. jc

Thank you Ras, God will reward your faithfulness for praying for all of these replies to your post about Blessing and cursing. I know that I cannot fail because HE cannot fail and I trust that HIS word will NEVER return void. I just need to remember that, which I often forget unfortunately. I will continue to pray for you and Bev as I have for years. The LORD Bless you and keep you. With Thanks, in Christ Jesus , joanna

    Greetings Ras,
My husband, Will and I have been in a season of lack as we have never experienced before. Will just started a temporary position this week. We thank God for it. We also have a home business opportunity that we have launched into this month. We have been seeking the Lord for a source of income through business(es) so that we are able to enter into full time ministry. Specifically a Kingdom training center in the area of finances. As that is where we have been attacked the most and believe finances is where we are called to operate in a breakthrough anointing. Thank you for your faithfulness and labor of love. Blessings, Maria.

I subscribe to your posts and enjoy them very much! You and Bev are such an inspiration to me. Would you please pray for our finances and direction from the Lord? I haven’t had steady work in three years.

Thanks and Many Blessings to you and your family!
