ARE THEY WORTH RESCUING?

Posted: April 7, 2011 in Uncategorized

God has brought me under deep conviction over His judgment of those outside of Christ.  No matter how we seek to gloss over the horrible picture of unbelievers spending eternity in Hell, it is still an eternal punishment engineered by God himself.  We can feel justified in our lack of interest or pity because of the heinous acts, beliefs and lifestyles of those outside of Christ.  But what should my attitude be?

2 Timothy 4:17-18 (NASB)  “But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that through me the proclamation might be fully accomplished, and that all the Gentiles might hear; and I was rescued out of the lion’s mouth.  “The Lord will rescue me from every evil deed, and will bring me safely to His heavenly kingdom; to Him be the glory forever and ever. Amen.”

2 Peter 2:7-9 (NASB) “And if He rescued righteous Lot, oppressed by the sensual conduct of unprincipled men (for by what he saw and heard that righteous man, while living among them, felt his righteous soul tormented day after day by their lawless deeds), then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from temptation, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment.

If God can rescue Noah and Lot, there is no living unbeliever He cannot rescue today.  And though it seems impossible to our minds that a horrific and evil person or people of certain non-Christian religions could be saved, that is not the position we can take as intercessors.

Rather than imagining the unbelievers dying and going to an eternal Hell, what about rather imagining them being snatched from the flames of an eternal damnation and becoming our beloved brothers and sisters as Christians.  Which do you think is God’s will?  This is grist for our prayers of intercession.

I could name names here of murderers, genocide practicioners but you know them already.  Instead of their names, try substituting Noah and Lot.  They need to be rescued and judged here and now rather than face the inevitable judgment of damnation.

Lord, let all enemies of the Christian faith and practice come under the conviction of the Holy Spirit and be saved.  May it be perhaps the greatest testimony of your grace in all of history.

Please join me in this intercession through posting on the BLOG your own intercessions, prophetic insights and decrees and other inputs.

Reynil

Reynil and HadjiReynil is 8 years old.  He desperately wants to go to school, but has never been.  His father died the same day his younger brother, Arnel, now age 3, was born. To earn enough money to get food, Reynil’s mother goes from house to house every day to look for someone who wants laundry done, a manicure or pedicure, shoes repaired, or any number of things to earn a little money to feed her family.  Reynil’s job?  To take care of his 3 year old brother.  He also cooks and washes dishes.  There is barely enough money to buy food for this family.  The expense of going to school for Reynil is not even a possibility.  His mother agrees that he needs to go to school and if sponsored, Reynil will have the joy of going to first grade. As a sponsor, you can impact the life of this little boy and change the direction of his life.  You can give him and his mother hope that the future could be better. Reynil is available now for someone to sponsor.  If you are interested, go to Sponsor A Child.

We are praying for 500 additional children to be sponsored in the Philippines by the end of May.  Reynil is one of them.  Will you help?  Go to Sponsor A Child.

    Hi Ras;
    I agree there are millons who do not know the saving grace God has provided for them through His Son, Jesus and His atoning blood sacrifice. I also agree we are called of God to intercede for them; with compassion…for “we are all sinners saved by grace”. We are not to be sitting in positions of judgment and we are to be seeking God for the prayers He wants us to be praying. Ezekiel 3: 17 (“…I have made thee a watchman…therefore HEAR the word at MY mouth and give warning from Me….”)through to verse 21 provides some insight for us in considering the many things happening around us; as well as 1 John 3. I believe we need to be cautious in the way we “warn” as it can be done in a positive way or in a negative way (that’s where 1 John 3 comes in).

    “THIS IS THE DAY THAT I HAVE MADE. Rejoice and be glad in it. Begin the day with open hands of faith, ready to receive all that I am pouring into this brief portion of your life. Be careful not to complain about anything, even the weather, since I am the Author of your circumstances. The best way to handle unwanted situations is to thank Me for them. This act of faith frees you from resentment and frees Me to work My ways into the situation, so that good will emerge from it. My ways are not your ways…REJOICE, I AM!”
    Blessings over your day:)

    Father God, it is true, and I have been ignoring it. I have become indifferent. How did I get here, so far from where we were together? Your zeal filled me up in those days when I was unashamedly showing others how to accept you and how to learn from you. And not only was I aflame with your zeal, but the intimacy between us was out of this world my beloved, my brother, my first love. I long for that boldness, that zeal, that seeing the lost through your eyes and with your love again. I know that spark is buried somewhere in me under a bunch of ashes. I long for your wind to blow and start the fire again. I can only help those you are calling if you come with your wind. Please come. Please begin to prepare the hearts of people, I perceive that you have already begun to. Please put in our paths the appointments we are to have with them in order for them to see you in us and to want to know you. Open your way in each life you long to touch, to save. You are all power and worthy of way more glory than our abilities can give you. Holy. Holy.

      Dear Bev;
      I am so moved by your prayer my sister, it is my heart as well. I am grateful for God’s mercy and grace in my life and I, too, desire to go way deeper in intimacy with Him. It is my heart cry that my life will reveal His unconditional love to all who come across my path. I pray for the glory of His Presence to shine as bright white light through me to draw many from darkness. I pray for all of us to operate in such FULLNESS of God that our prayer life will bring immediate and tangible results when we pray. Lord, if our love has cooled so that it is only as glowing embers, Holy Spirit, fan the flame of passion in our hearts once again; increase a deep hunger in us and in the body of Christ for MORE of You. Holy Spirit blow over us; give us increased hunger and thirst for our Daily Bread and sweet Wine… reveal to each of us the Father’s heart as our desire to reach out to a lost and dying world is increased (burning within). Empower us to declare God’s truth in such a way that many thousands will come to know and understand experientially God’s AMAZING GRACE. We love You Lord and bow humbly before You with deep desire for just You.

    Just a reassurance– I sent the post about Kim Clement because you two are prophesying along the same lines and I thought you might find it interesting to see. I sent Kim an invitation on Facebook to look at your blog and I sent him the daily email I get from you. God is big on unity in his people and in the body of Christ. I hope you two can meet someday if you haven’t already. I also listen to Rick Joyner (I’ve read his books ” The Final Quest” and “The Call’ 11 times and working on the 12th), Steve Schultz, and Chuck Pierce. I plan to help sponsor children in the Philippines soon also–Fantastic ministry you have their!! Many blessings to you and Beverly
