In today’s “What the Lord Is Saying Today,” I had to think of today’s leaders like Glenn Beck.  Gideon of the Scriptures was a very courageous man of vision and conviction.

September 23, 2010. Not all who are called will be chosen.  Just because a person is present when My army is being assembled does not mean they will be in the fight.  I want the faithful, those full of My Spirit, the skilled and courageous.  My strategies will be new to you.  Be open minded.  A sure way to failure right now is to seek old ways and methodology.  Tune your ears to the new sound.  Sharpen your sight to see in what you have seen and will see the very secrets and revelations you have overlooked until now.  Dare to declare and decree what your spiritual eyes and eyes behold.  Find the new way and path.  The truth will lead you home to victory.
Judges 7:5-7 (AMP) “And the Lord said to Gideon, with the 300 men who lapped I will deliver you, and give the Midianites into your hand.  Let all the others return every man to his home.”   Ras Robinson

Beck is a modern day Gideon in that through his 40 day challenge, he is seeking those who will pay the price to get to God or back to God as the case may be.  He is bringing people to the water’s edge to discover the real, honest to goodness warriors.  Those who are called, qualified by the Lord, and chosen will lead the way in the new season for America.

Perhaps never in the history of America has there been the extent of intercession and fasting.  Christians are being brought to the river.  God will make His choice of who He is going into battle with.

This is what happened:

Judges 7:16-21 (AMP) 16 And he divided the 300 men into three companies, and he put into the hands of all of them trumpets and empty pitchers, with torches inside the pitchers. 17 And he said to them, Look at me, then do likewise. When I come to the edge of their camp, do as I do. 18 When I blow the trumpet, I and all who are with me, then you blow the trumpets also on every side of all the camp and shout, For the Lord and for Gideon! 19 So Gideon and the 100 men who were with him came to the outskirts of the camp at the beginning of the middle watch, when the guards had just been changed, and they blew the trumpets and smashed the pitchers that were in their hands. 20 And the three companies blew the trumpets and shattered the pitchers, holding the torches in their left hands, and in their right hands the trumpets to blow [leaving no chance to use swords], and they cried, The sword for the Lord and Gideon! 21 They stood every man in his place round about the camp, and all the [Midianite] army ran—they cried out and fled.

God placed Himself in charge and led them through Gideon to do the unthinkable.  No sword was used nor was it possible for the warriors to use a sword because they carried in one hand a trumpet and in the other hand a pitcher.

For America today, God is the commander-in-chief.  He is the Lord and Head of the Army.  He is the General of Generals, Presidents and governments.  They do not know what they are doing but God’s protective hand is still over America, giving time for repentance back to Him.  Pray for those in authority.

Major changes are beginning in Washington, D.C.  More will come.  Beck may not be the Gideon of today but on the other hand, he might be.  God makes the choice.

This reminded me of the tryouts for this season’s “The Biggest Loser.” Those who thought they had qualified for the show had to participate in still another race to see which two of a group of three would continue. Those with the heart and willingness to go full-out would receive a team t-shirt and proceed to the ranch – where the real work would begin.

  2. LilyAngel1 says:

This is the race where there will be no t-shirts and the loser’s will be Satan and those who have not received the salvation of Jesus Christ. The possibility of our current situation in time being the ultimate battle between good and evil, or as scripture foretells the “end of days”, and the second coming of our Lord Jesus. See Matthew 24,
2 Thessalonians 1:7-2:12, and Revelation 20:10-15. Study Ephesians 6 to be prepared for battle.
Believers all over the world are being filled with the Holy Spirit, in ways that many cannot understand nor explain unless they live by the word and the Truth contained within it. Spiritual gifts are being bestowed upon Christians in magnitudes immeasurable. It is as if a surge of necessity from our creator is flowing through his people, with the air and every wind that surrounds us.
Yet the bible teaches us that only those who not only see, hear and follow the word of Truth, but those who are willing to listen and “do” are being called upon for the sake of Christ. Which does not necessarily mean that we are not all called in certain ways for His reasons each Christian is called to the forefront, only some are prepared by Him to sustain and fight to the very end. Whereas, some spiritual gifts are servant/helper-Acts 6:2-4, Evangelist Acts 8:26-40,Apostles Acts 14:21-23, Administration Acts 15:12-21, Intercession 1 Timothy 2:1-2, Leadership Hebrews 13:7, Healing James 3:13-17, Pastor 1 Peter 5:1-4, Prophet 1 Corinthians 14:3, Missionary 1 Corinthians 9:19-23 and some are being given the gift of tongues, discernment and knowledge that can only be obtained through God’s giving.
As soldiers in God’s army, we are to pray for His wisdom, His discernment, and His guidance, for without being steadfast in our study, meditations, fasting and fervent prayers, we leave ourselves open to the opposition who is patiently waiting for a way to tear us away. I stand firm in the Glory of God…for it is He I serve. May we all pray for the world, and for what is to come, we may not see it, but it is closer than any might dare to realize.
